When approached by CNA, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau , citing confidentiality issues, said it was unable to confirm or provide further information on whether the coach was being probed. Mr Tan told Shin Min that he had recorded a phone conversation with the coach, where the latter reportedly claimed to have over 10 years of experience in ensuring students entered their desired schools.Through the DSA programme, Primary 6 students can gain direct entry to certain secondary schools based on their talent in sports, co-curricular activities and specific academic areas.
As part of the process, schools are required to form selection panels, led by the school's leadership team, to evaluate the applicants, according to MOE.
