Disagreeing with the professor's views was not a reason for the school to violate the Constitution, the university said.

Indiana University agreed with critics that a professor's expressed beliefs raised concerns about his ability to teach a diverse student body. When it came to terminating his employment, though, the university claimed its hands were tied.

On November 7, Professor Eric Rasmusen posted on Twitter a link to an article titled,"Are Women Destroying Academia? Probably." The tweet created a firestorm after an account with more than 400,000 followers shared it and it wasn't the first time the university found themselves at the receiving end of criticism because of Rasmusen.

Gays weren't interested at all in gay marriage until it emerged as a way to get spousal fringe benefits from government nad employers. The"marriage" part of it is pretty much irrelevant. If we had laws against adultery, or if divorce werent easy, that would kill the idea dead.I just realized--- Women's Studies and Home Ec are the same thing. They are both meant to teach a woman how to live her life. It's just that only one of them keeps its promise.

Firing is *always* an option, you miserable cowards. Take a look at his contract. There will be something to hang this dirtbag on. Go back thru his grading. You’ll find his blatant racism all over. He’s no business near students and you all know it.

Why not?

Really. Well then you can have your school boycotted.

We have one of these profs at my institution unfortunately and they refuse to address it, even with documentation. Unreal.

Finally, a university standing up for free speech.

Indiana Univestity condemns professor's 'vile' views about gay men, black students and women, but says firing is not an option.😵🙃🙄

Well 🤔🤔🤔 Isn't there any law to be followed?

newsweak

..the same situation could happen with the political ideas...students with different political views should ask for firing the professor?! Free speech is always free speech...

They have no problem firing liberal professors for simply stating facts about racist conservatives.

Remember when universities were places where you could discuss controversial ideas.

BS

Our Constitution is a powerful document, indeed. This article made me swallow hard.

It’s almost 2020, how are there still primitive thinking people like this?

No one should take his class.

Indiana is one of the most racist states in the Midwest, everyone knows that.

Of course it isn’t - he’s a old white guy
