Deputy public prosecutor Julia Ibrahim requested the court to use the steam iron to show its temperature when the second accused Muhammad Azamuddin Mad Sofi testified as defence witness.“This is the same steam iron used by the accused when they ‘interrogated’ Zulfarhan on the night of May 22 to obtain his confession on the missing laptop,” she said.
Judge Datuk Azman Abdullah then asked Julia to bring the steam iron as he wanted to inspect and test it himself.On Wednesday, Azamuddin admitted that he was among the cadets who had pressed the steam iron on Zulfarhan’s thigh and shoulder during an “interrogation” on the night of the incident. She said the scald marks, which were of stage one, stage two and stage three categories, were found from his neck to his feet, including the shoulders, arms, chest, stomach, ribs, shoulder blade, thighs and ankles.
