Education expert Kevin Donnelly said he is “concerned about the timing” of NSW principals calling for business managers, or bursar, at secondary schools.
Headmasters want full-time bursars at every high school in order to focus on improving the curriculum, after it was revealed NSW schools are sitting on $1.3 billion in unspent funds that have accumulated this year. “It just surprised me that a couple of days after this $1.3 billion was discovered, now the principals are saying we need help to do the finances,” Mr Donnelly told Sky News.
