A study of 620 women by the Queen Mary University in London showed the self-sampling tests detected pre-cervical cancer in more than 83 per cent of women.

New self-sampling tests detected pre-cervical cancer with 80 per cent accuracy. They outperformed smear tests by more than a fifth in Queen Mary Uni study. Scientists say test could lead to home kit which can be dropped off at GP surgery.
