Scientists develop a blood test to predict how long patients with an aggressive type of brain cancer will live

Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania tested the blood of patients with glioblastoma, the aggressive form of brain cancer that killed John McCain. After diagnosis, average life expectancy is only 15 to 16 months. Patients with higher levels of DNA fragments in their blood lived half as long as those with lower levels of the biomarkers.
