The university says in a statement that 45 students and two teaching assistants were aboard the bus on their way to Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre when it went off a gravel road and down an embankment about 40 kilometres from Port Alberni on Vancouver Island

The university says its counsellors and other staff met with students and their families Saturday afternoon, and counselling services are open today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Centre for students looking for support.
