A former teacher at a prestigious Sydney boys' school has been jailed for downloading thousands of images of child abuse material and sending some using an online persona.
Judge Hock was given a sealed envelope containing a sample of the images, which she viewed before delivering her sentence. She said it was necessary to describe the images. "A significant percentage of the images stored on the external hard drive and on the thumb drive were identified as duplicates of the images originally stored on the Lenovo laptop," Judge Hock said.Judge Hock said that, before Jessurun's offending, he had been a "highly-regarded schoolteacher who worked both in Australia and overseas", and there was no suggestion his criminal activity was connected to his work.
