Fighting fake news, redesigning the education system and addressing mental health issues among young people are all on the curriculum for a new subject that has been designed and launched by a Sydney high school.
"Mine is going to be a rhyming picture book targeting kids and telling them how you can use technology without it harming you, how to be safe on the internet and how to keep balance," Lachlan Carter, 15, said. Mr Kanner said the subject, which is run over two classes a week, also includes "microlessons" that explicitly teach the skills students need to design and complete projects, including research skills, communication and creativity.
I hope that they learn about the fake news on climate change, and the fake media never telling the truth on US politics. That many journos are left wing and are bias on their reporting on a number of subjects or silent on issues.

We need teachers who are in the top 10% of school leavers. Teachers need three qualifications: top 10% brain power, they must genuinely like young people and they must be able to implement fair discipline very effectively. Oh, yes we need to pay good salaries.
