A Florida student obsessed with the University of Tennessee wanted to represent the Volunteers during his elementary school's 'College Colors Day,' but didn't own any of their apparel -- so he took the matter into his own hands

A Florida student obsessed with the University of Tennessee wanted to represent the Volunteers during his elementary school's"College Colors Day," but didn't own any of their apparel -- so he took the matter into his own hands.

Laura Snyder, his teacher at Altamonte Elementary School in Altamonte Springs, says he drew a"U.T.", the university's logo, on paper and pinned it to an orange t-shirt."When the day finally arrived, he was SO EXCITED to show me his shirt," Snyder wrote Wednesday on Facebook."I was impressed that he took it one step further to make his own label."But by lunch time, the spirited Vols fan was in tears.

— UT Knoxville September 6, 2019 Although Snyder kept the student's photo and name private, she shared a note written by his mother on Facebook."I am overwhelmed by the love I feel from this extended community and the pride I feel for my son and for being a VFL. Every comment, item sent, and action taken on behalf of my son will never be forgotten and hopefully will serve as inspiration for him throughout his life," his mom said.

I hope the school received his parents permission to copy his artwork. They need to give him royalties. It would only be right to help him with tuition for his future.

Kid should get some of the money to help pay for his college education probably going to cost him $350,000. Let him decide if he wants to donate a few bucks to anti bullying organizations. His design!

Ah capitalism, taking a need and providing a service that fills it.

Is that kid gonna get paid for his IP?

'He proudly put on the jersey and one of the many hats in the box. All who saw had either goosebumps or tears while we explained that he had inspired and touched the lives of so many people.' ❤️

Totally made up story.

crazy how he perfectly replicated the tennessee vols jersey 😂

Nice story. Good for the kid, and for the great reaction from all the UTKnoxville Vol fans. Very touching. The t-shirt that UT made is actually quite stylish and very cool. I hope the kid winds up going to UT. They'd love to have him, I'm sure. Kudos to the teacher too.

Now that is amazing bullies are home grown they see it from the adults at home.

laureldavilacpa Initiative, creativity, commitment and confidence, the boy should be applauded.

😥so beautiful. Congrats young man. And wow, what a wonderful teacher! Not into college sports but want to buy, and proudly wear one their shirts.

Nah, he was bullied because Tennessee couldn't even beat Georgia State

Yes, but how is it Trumps fault, CNN?

The shirt looks really cute too. I’m glad people rallied to give him support!

Hopefully they will put some money into a college fund for using his design.
