Cape Town - Cabinet ministers have promised to provide students at universities in the Western Cape with pepper sprays as part of efforts to fight gender-based violence. This followed a meeting between the ministers and students.
Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Lindiwe Sisulu said they needed to find resources to help students. The murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana was described by President Cyril Ramaphosa as a sign of a national crisis and that the government needed to do more.Angeline Clark-Abrahams also killed by her husband in the Eastern Cape. A KwaZulu-Natal man this week allegedly murdered his four children after his wife divorced him.
