15-year-old student arrested in Central Florida after authorities said he made an online threat to shoot up his school.

The unnamed teenager, who attends Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, allegedly posted a comment on a video game chat platform on Thursday using a fake name, vowing to bring his father's M15 assault rifle to school and kill seven people"at a minimum," according to a statement from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. The comment was reported to the FBI, which contacted the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

"Joke or not, these types of comments are felonies under the law," the sheriff's office said in a statement Monday."After the mass violence we've seen in Florida and across the country, law enforcement officers have a responsibility to investigate and charge those who choose to make these types of threatening statements."

Body-camera footage released by the sheriff's office shows the moment deputies arrived at the teen's home on Friday morning and handcuffed him. His mother can be heard telling deputies that she does own a gun and understands threats cannot be taken lightly.

From Florida Man to Florida Teen. What’s next, Florida toddler arrested for spiking the punch at daycare?

if he was joking, now he'll become a criminal, after being put in prison.

cthagod donkey of the day

Florida man . . . .

In Florida he probably thought he was standing his ground.

Throw the book at this kid. Time for harsh consequences.

WHY? What’s wrong with these kids: Disconnect, Where are the Parents, Friends, on drugs?!, does he go to Church - have a connection with God, RESPECT for life, himself?!?! 👎😖🖤

Uh posting on social media that you are going to shoot up your school is not a video game.

Good.

Will you be reporting on all of these incidents? This is alarmingly common so I’m curious as to why you chose to report on this incident at this time? As you obey gag orders on the Philly shooter, you call out one of many teenagers. Strange. Deceptive. Chosen by race & location.

This saddens me

Just curious are his parents registered Democrat by chance yes or no? If so nuff said... carry on...

Good. Ban gun ownership for life for this person.

Oh, gee, he was playing a video game? Handy answer.

If this was a police child he or she would not be arrested these abusers of police only arrest your child- never going after what created the incident or who instigated the problems or bullies! Who teaching the child about the new laws and how you only have no chances or two ?

Instead the mom makes an excuse. My mom would have beat my ass while I was being cuffed. And my fathers 🦶 would be so far up my ass I would be sneezing toenails for a month.

Time to go back to a switch and bust his but

IT IS NOT A GOOD JOKE ITS REAL

And the parents are. Where

Teach the children. They are children with undeveloped brains. Felony? Free speech is the law. Okay, take his gun away if he has one. Take his parents guns. Put him in therapy. Don't lock children up.

😡😡😡😡😡what's wrong with kids!!

Put him in jail. And that horrible mother too.

I find it hard to believe it was a joke and that “he’s just a kid excuse” does not negate threats of violence. Thank God someone was paying attention and told the authorities IfYouSeeSomethingSaySomething

Great news— another tragedy avoided because if proactive measures! Thank you.

Kids play way too many online games

Meh .. dismissed .. balloons are losing air everywhere .. 🙄

Every threat has to be followed up on. The reason is that maybe only one in ten is serious, but no one knows which “one” it will be.
