Taxpayers to fork out millions as 'defective school' building scandal builders land another State gig

The company at the centre of a “defective school” building scandal has landed another State contract set to cost taxpayers millions.

A spokeswoman for the University of Limerick Hospitals Group confirmed the contract for the 60-bed unit was signed in May. At that point a major health and safety probe was already under way at the 42 primary and secondary schools constructed by WBS. “It is the most overcrowded hospital in the State and more beds are urgently needed. We cannot afford any more delays.”
