Laurie Sheck, the poet and professor who was investigated by her university for quoting James Baldwin’s use of the N-word in a graduate class, has been cleared of charges of racial discrimination.

I used it once, when discussing racism with a black colleague. I was quoting some graffiti that had been written in a racism case. I remember the shock in his eyes. Never said anything, & was ok with me afterwards (perhaps a bit wary), but I regretted it, it's a powerful word.

So now it is politically incorrect for a graduate level professor to QUOTE an African American author who uses the N-word?

Thank God, the authorities acting sanely is a rare incident!
