The Plano Independent School District announced the cancellation of the second annual out-of -district matchup between Plano Senior High School and Eastwood High School in a Thursday news release."Our students and coaches were eager for this opportunity to come together with Eastwood High to promote a message of compassion and healing, but what should be a celebratory event would be encumbered by safety concerns for the participants and fans of both teams.

this is a great opportunity to bring two communities that are connected by this tragedy, Not sure what the safety concerns where, was it because our kids (El Paso) are mostly Mexican and they have targets on their back or was it that they believe that our kids would want revenge

Safety concerns? They should’ve canceled it out of respect or in remembrance of the recent shooting. Are they afraid one of their citizens is going to commit another heinous hate crime?
Plano_Schools For someone that was born in El Paso and still has family in El Paso I can definitely say that El Paso is a strong community and forgiving community. The only safety concern is the safety of not brininging media attention to Plano where the shooter graduated HS🤔
