We run the rule over UK higher education, as school leavers prepare for their A-level results

How many UK universities are there? There are about 140 universities in the UK. It depends on your definition of a university: if it stretches to any public institution with degree-awarding powers, then the number rises to 164, according to Higher Education Statistics Agency data. A small number of private providers can also award degrees.

Unless if you got a masters.

I'd say nope

Ask first why you decided to study higher education....it’s not just for a job. IMO it’s good because you learn the art of expressing yourself better.

Subliminal brainwashing seems to occur

No, Blair screwed it up. People get pointless degrees and get into debt for no reason because they are taught a degree is vital. It’s also left a lot of people unable to get a degree feeling ostracised from society as there is no longer a celebration of low skilled work or trades

I mean idk about y'all but I do more than just study to sell my labour. Uni's got a *bit* more depth than that

No

Tel that to the students who work their Arse off and end up with humongous debts

No. My friend and I both have university degrees but work part time in retail and gastronomy as there isn’t any jobs in our field of work. My husband left school without any qualifications and he’s earning £38.000 a year. I’m now 38 and retraining as a dressmaker.

'Worth it' in what sense? What price knowledge, insight, perspective, and thinking skills? If life is only about money become a good plumber. If it's about being useless become a politician....no skills or minimum education level required.

No, not in monetary terms.

PROBABLY CAMBRIDGE

A degree is a degree, regardless of where u attain it from. The ranking of tertiary institutions are based on how much funding they recieve, hence research outputs.

Not since it’s been infested with lefty liberal lunatic lecturers and tutors whom are destroying our education system as we speak.

Nice question...

Depends what the degree is in

That’s is guys. A nice cheery article on a Monday morning does wonders for us all.

Nope. Too many people have one. No point doing academically well 5-18 years old if modern requirements to get into some unis is just being able to breathe.
