A personnel of the Nigerian Civil Defence and Security Corps has shot and killed a 100 level student of the state owned Niger Delta University, Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government area of Bayelsa State.
Some witnesses say the NSCDC personnel who was in company of other police officers, were at a popular bar known as the Usual karaoke bar when his gun failed, and in an attempt to free the gun, about three bullets were accidentally discharged into victim’s body. Chief Abel Ebifemowei who confirmed the development, described the incident as unfortunate and sad, he however, denied being at a drinking bar.
‘It is unfortunate that he did not face it up. The affected personnel was not drunk as claimed.it was just an accidental discharge which every security personnel pray not to happen to him. I was not at a bar. I was in Amassoma to observe the Local Government election ahead of the coming governorship poll.’

Is it that Nigerian lives are worthless and meaningless that our security agents take it at will?
The history of politicians and their cronies having armed personnel as escorts started when they began stealing our money blindly. This wouldn't have happened but not this escort thing.
