Based on a federal lawsuit filed last Thursday by her boyfriend, Matthew Bick, the report said that the complainant had alleged negligence, wrongful death, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit reportedly contends that the university’s lack of action had violated her civil rights as it was stated that she had lodged a complaint about the alleged bullying to her professors and a department chairman.In a recent report by, the lawsuit alleged that there was a pattern in the bullying and that the PhD programme had failed to address the bullying and mediate the intercultural conflict between Jerusha and her alleged bully.

Jerusha, who had enrolled at the USU in the fall of 2016, was made fun of for her “weird Asian name” and labelled “stupid”.
