As the DAP central leadership try to placate grassroots leaders over the government's plan to introduce six pages of khat lessons in the Year 4 Bahasa Malaysia subject, Sabah DAP wants the matter in Sabah to be left to Sabahans to decide.
"This is because Sabah comprises many unique ethnic groups, languages, customs and culture," Sabah DAP said in a statement today.They are Chan Foong Hin , Vivian Wong Shir Yee , Frankie Poon Ming Fung , Phoong Jin Zhe , Jimmy Wong , Tan Lee Fatt , Calvin Chong and Ronnie Loh . "We are of the opinion that the teaching of language in school should allow students to appreciate the beauty of various languages like Jawi, Chinese calligraphy of artistic patterns of Kadazan Dusun.
