Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Prof Blessing Chimezie Didia, with immediate effect.The Governor, therefore, approved the appointment of Professor Opuenebo B. Owei, Deputy Vice Chancellor as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, respectively.
“Furthermore, a committee has been set up to investigate the employment exercise and report to the Rivers State Governor in two weeks.”

This action contravenes Administrative law .. Where dismissal or sack is the last option! What a Unilateral decision.. repugnant to natural justice equity and fair hearing !
Sacks?. The problems of State Universities, where the Visitor will just wake up one day and sack all or some Principal officers without due process. Sad.
