HOLLYWOOD—In response to public outcry by motor vehicle associations, theaters across the country pulled the filmFriday following reports of the on-set mistreatment of cars.
“Learning that these beautiful cars were subjected to such inhumane working conditions made me sick to my stomach. This cannot stand. Audiences deserve a fun action movie, not the reckless endangerment of innocent vehicles, many of which were less than a year old. Unfortunately, there’s evidence that many of the actors were very rough with these cars, forcing them off cliffs and ramming them with trucks.
I am glad this was pulled! Sleezy, unscrupulous car sales lots everywhere are over-populated with cars in need of good homes, such as some guy's back yard under a tarp until next spring when he 'gets around to it'...but THIS is how Hollywood treats them?!
Apparently a Honda CRV got assaulted in a studio garage by a few of the Teamster's Ford F-250's. It reportedly ended after a couple of blown gaskets and a lube job. The suspects sped off afterwards and have yet to be apprehended.
