The ministry said in a statement on Friday that it takes note of various responses to the issue, adding that the plan for its introduction had been implemented through a review of the curriculum since 2014.
"Therefore, the ministry will continue with the implementation while making sure that it will not burden the students and teachers, ” the statement said.
I do not understand why we need to learn Jawi. Our education system is supposed to prepare our children to be competent and have the skill to fulfil workforce market and to be innovative to become entrepreneurs. Is learning Jawi fulfil this objective?!

Have the Ministry done the study if most kids have mastered the Bahasa Melayu well, before flooding them with caligraphy? Enough quality teacher to tech them? Even parent will struggle now.
