A BULLFIGHTING school that trains youngsters to kill calves for entertainment has defied a mounting wave of outrage by having teenagers slaughter 24 of the animals in just four days.
The bullring is almost empty, but children are among those watching, with one boy seen recording the slaughter on his tablet computer. “This event violates the right of children and adolescents to live in an environment free of violence and it is imperative that something be done about it.”BULLFIGHTING is a Spanish tradition that dates back centuries that has seen matadors make millions.
Only Hollywood actors and the football stars of clubs such as Real Madrid earn more than leading matadors. It has faced a backlash along with other blood sports that say it is cruel to confront bulls at close range with red capes and swords.A poll from 2017, carried out for World Animal Protection, found that only 19 per cent of adults in Spain supported bullfighting, while 58 percent opposed it.
