KANGAR: The mother and brother of a disabled 14-year old girl were remanded for four days from today to facilitate investigations into the alleged abuse of the girl.The 40-year-old woman and her 15-year-old son were arrested at their home in Kampung Gial Tengah, Mata Ayer here yesterday.
On Friday, a video clip went viral on Twitter under the account name Jurais Abdullah, which showed the girl outside the house. The girl, who has a learning disability, was said to have not been fed and allegedly beaten as there were injuries and bruises on her back, left wrist and neck. Perlis police chief Noor Mushar Mohamad said the girl was being treated at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar and police were waiting for the medical report.
