TAIPING: The two teenagers suspected of killing a 16-year-old student in Kamunting here have been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations.

The remand order for the 14-year-old girl and her boyfriend, 15, was obtained at the magistrate's court Monday

It was reported that the victim, who was the girl's brother, was found at the backlane of their neighbour's house in Taman Glenview on Sunday at about 12.20am. Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said the victim was killed following a dispute over a mobile phone."The brother told him to get it but a dispute broke out, causing a scuffle that led to the murder," he said.

It is learned that the suspects had used a plastic bag to cover the victim's head before slicing his throat and wrists with a knife. The family has claimed the body from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh after a post mortem last night.
