The Department of Education (DepEd) expressed optimism that more students will benefit from the Senior High School (SHS) program along with the help of various local government units (LGUs).

DepEd, led by Secretary Leonor Briones, recently accepted the four-story, 23-classroom building of Flora A. Ylagan SHS turned over by the local government of Quezon City. “I am very glad to hear that you are going to offer courses particularly in technical-vocational which will enable our graduates to find jobs, if they wish to work,” she said.

Briones expressed her gratitude for the continuing support of the Quezon City government under the leadership of Mayor Herbert Bautista, who also graced the inauguration. “This is a great occasion because the inauguration of this building really exemplifies the great partnerships between the local governments and the Department of Education,” she said.

Aside from Briones and Bautista, also present during the inauguration and turn-over ceremony were DepEd National Capital Region Director Wilfredo Cabral and DepEd Quezon City Schools Division Superintendent Natividad Bayubay.
