Gov't looking at possible merger of STPM, matriculation syllabus

The Education Ministry is the process of scrutinising various proposals on improvements to the matriculation system, including one to merge the syllabus for STPM and the pre-university course by next year.

"In fact, each suggestion submitted by Howard is being further scrutinised by the ministry," said Maszlee. He said Lee had suggested that the government to open up an existing 15,000 spots for foundation programmes at public universities as part of the matriculation programme.

Wrong move. Don’t sacrifice education to please a certain group of people. STPM is better compared to matriculation as it provides way better & wider fundamental knowledge. I did STPM & I know about matrix. The merger plan is totally immature and absurd.

As long as it results in a high quality pre-uni qualification that is accepted by world class universities. One chance to make it right

Isu ni dah lama Since i mengajar STPM 2007 lagi. Tapi ramai yg x tahu STPM syllabus from Cambridge. Matrikulasi from KPM. so matrikulasi perlu pengiktirafan dari Cambridge. STPM laku worldwide. Matrikulasi laku di Malaysia sahaja. Silakan berebut 😂

STPM is recognised in many countries as quality cert while no one give a damn to matriculation. Forget about it, you better don’t do anything because nothing works under you!

Merge or not isn’t the answer. The issue is the racist attitude of Maszlee and that he insults every hardworking parents that tried their best to give best education to their children! Issue is top students are not given rightful places to study resulting in serious brain drain!
