A Georgetown University student is fighting expulsion over his father's involvement in a college admissions bribery scheme is taking the school to court.

Adam Semprevivo alleges in the lawsuit he was informed by Singer that Georgetown's then-tennis coach, Gordon Ernst, was a friend and would provide him a recommendation, when in fact Ernst used one of his assigned admission slots as if he was recruiting Adam Semprevivo to play tennis for the university.

While attending the university, Adam Semprevivo maintained a 3.18 grade point average, according to the lawsuit, which contents that he offered to withdraw from the university with his earned credits intact so that he could transfer to another school, and the university refused his request. Georgetown said following the March indictments, they began contacting current students who may have been involved to give them a chance to respond. The university noted that"knowingly misrepresenting or falsifying credentials in an application can be cause for rescinding the admission of the student and dismissal from Georgetown."

When questioned about why this process did not take place for Adam Semprevivo's case, the university, through their attorney, said the honor system did not apply because the issue concerns Adam Semprevivo's submissions to the university before he was enrolled as a student, according to the lawsuit.

Georgetown University to Expel Two Students Tied to Admissions ScandalGeorgetown University said it would expel two students implicated in the college-admissions scandal—hours after one of the students sued the school for allegedly depriving him of due process. Kids got balls. Given that Adam Semprevivo's admission to Georgetown was obtained through his Dad's bribery to the tune of $400,000 (as evidenced by his Dad's guilty plea), why should Adam be afforded any right of process? He never should have been admitted as a student in the first place. As they should admission granted under false pretenses

Am I getting this right? The university accepts a bribe to get the student in. Shit hits the fan and a total of $600,000 later, the same university kicks the student out because it’s the students fault and the university is taking no responsibility? Is that what’s happening? deray Riddle Me This.... Question: How Can A Criminal Sue Committing Criminal Acts... Answer: White Skin The student has completed 3 years, dad may be going to jail, and Georgetown knew something was up but didn't suspend the student while making its investigations, but rather continued to collect tuition and fees? Georgetown expels two students caught up in college admissions scandalGeorgetown Univ. expelled 2 students in connection with the massive college admissions scandal — the same day one of them filed a federal lawsuit in hopes of blocking his ouster. “In his lawsuit, Adam Semprevivo said he had an SAT score of 1980 — 640 in reading, 640 in math and 700 essay...and thus didn't need any shady strings to be pulled on his behalf at Georgetown.” These SAT scores are WAY below average for Georgetown. He must really want to go G’town. Kinda hard to believe that dad filed a bogus admissions application and paid $400k in bribes ... and the son didn't know a darn thing?

But schools taking bribe money...is okay? Good To be honest I don’t like seeing kids suffer for their parents actions. I’m sure most of the kids knew about it but in all reality 17 and 18 year olds are just kids imo. If they have kept their grades up then let them stay. Punish the parents and make an example of them.
