Homicide police will provide an update on Monday morning about “significant developments” in the case of 19-year-old Bhavkiran Dhesi.
Dhesi’s family last saw her around 9 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2017 when she told them she was going out for a couple of hours. Just over three hours later, the SUV she was driving was found on fire in the 18700-block 24th Avenue, in South Surrey. — IHIT May 13, 2019Dhesi, who was called Kiran by her family and friends, was a criminology student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and had struggled with health issues related to Wegener’s disease, which she was diagnosed with at age 15. Dhesi received a kidney transplant in February 2017, and spent about two months recovering. According to friends and family, she was looking forward to getting healthy, travelling and living “a normal life.”
