Fifteen parents decided their children should not sit the tests being held this month
All 15 parents of children in Year 2 at Bealings School near Woodbridge, Suffolk, said"over-testing was ruining the pupils' education". "It adds extra pressure they don't really need and takes a lot of teachers' time away from what they should be doing."Lavinia Musolino has opted for her son Enzo, seven, not to take the Sats test
If the parents keep the children off school fine them for unauthorised absence what's mummy and daddy going to at 11 or 16 or 18 pathetic parenting life is tough help the child cope with stress it will set them up for later life
I don’t blame them everybody should do the same
This is typical of why those children will fail to survive lifes obstacles. 40 years ago you were tested in class & probably got reprimanded if you failed. Today's children without discipline, without tests will turn into the needy which is a growing epidemic in today's world
I am just short of 73 and I had exams every year with the results put in a league table format on the wall for all to see it did us no harm so what has changed- can't have losers at team sport until a certain age ALL BOLLOCKS they have to grow up
I agree, that is far too young to sit exams.
It’s teachers that don’t want any accountability for their work 😂😂
Why would you not want to know how your child had improved through the school !
Didn't think it was parents who took SATS....what a bunch of muppets....
Totally agree.
Good. First years of learning should teach children to embrace knowledge and learning. Stress, testing, and marks generally should come later.
I’m always amazed that a none specialist Government Minister runs our vast Education system based on their experience at a Private Charity School usually. These tests are not mandatory in the Private or Home Schooled sectors.... merely Voluntary. Wonder why ? Well done Parents.
Boycotts tests then blames government when there kids are not well educated and sits on the doll
Excellent! Indoctrination Rebellion! If you're testing all the time there is less opportunity for learning.
It’s not teaching the kids anything neither, it’s teaching kids ‘bad behaviour, of anything gets too challenging just ‘refuse to do it’ sheeesh ! snowflakes
Since when did parents run the schools, expel their kids if they ‘boycott’ anything.....country’s gone soft soft soft !
6/7 may be a bit young but a good work ethic starts when you're young. What will they do when they get to GCSEs and A levels Education takes hard work and commitment. There has to be a balance between playing and learning otherwise when they're older it'll be harder to commit
I thought the kids sat the tests ?
Children having to do tests in school Heaven forbid. I hope that the head has been sacked for this outrage!
Why boycott? Don't they want their kids to learn how to face a challenging problem? By boycotting it, you're teaching the child to avoid anything challenging.
Get kids used to dealing with stress earlier on, then when bigger issues come uplater in life they will be able to handle it
Quite right. They're turning primary school into a right bore for kids!
Making six and seven-year-olds sit exams is ridiculous. Well done the parents. Homework should also be banned.
Good for them.
This is not good behaviour. Setting children into this mindset will make them heavily shocked when seeing the amount of exams in further education, however, there may not be some vital information here, as I don't believe they would do this purely over SATs alone.
Fine everyone of the parents.
