Wasps are smarter than we thought, new study shows

Summer is approaching in the northern hemisphere, heralding the return of that great scourge of al fresco diners everywhere: the wasp.

Now, a new study out of the University of Michigan reveals that the striped critters aren't just pesky -- they're smart.The research found that wasps can use a form of logical reasoning to infer unknown relationships from known relationships, according to a press release.Essentially this means they can work out that if is X is greater than Y, and Y is greater than Z, X is greater than Z -- an ability that was thought to be a key human trait for thousands of years.

They're not that smart. I sprayed a whole nest on the back of my house and they didnt see it coming.

A wasp flew inside my moms car the other day and I hit it with my hand out of the car and closed the door. The next hour that thing came flying inside the car loud.

I do volunteer work in the forest and I've been stung several times by wasps. They seem have known that I wasn't a 'Real' threat. I only got a partial (more like a message) sting. And other times they would look at me and 'stare me down'. I got the hint and no sting.

The real question: How much did this “study” cost? I bet we got ripped off learning Wasps can do algebra.

At last, CNN has a plan to overthrow Donald Trump: use wasps.
