Scott Morrison has named health and education as two of his priorities if he holds power at the federal election, saying his ambition for the country is to make sure every Australian can reach his or her potential.
"There is a champion inside every Australian, regardless of whatever challenges they may face," Mr Morrison said."That's why I'm passionate about the NDIS. It helps remove the obstacles that can hold disabled Australians back and helps them live the life they want to live." He also named the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, which subsidises medicines, as another priority program.
"I hope that our focus on tackling youth suicide and mental health will save their lives and those of their friends. Too many have been lost."Asked about whether he offered any change in the next term, given the sweeping program Mr Shorten has put forward, Mr Morrison named existing policies instead - and then warned of the risk of voting for the Opposition Leader.
