KIDS living in Southampton, Bristol and Belfast are most at risk from permanent sun damage in the UK, experts have warned.

They found that children living in Southhampton - the area with the highest UV radiation levels on the south coast - are most at risk, playing for an average of 207 hours outdoors in spring and summer.Shockingly, however, a fifth of parents in either city don't ever use suncream on their kids in the UK - despite living in the two areas where they are at highest risk of sun damage.

"However, we can use the data to compare different places across the UK to see where children are most likely to get sunburn. Kids in Birmingham play outside for just 170 hours between March and August, while in Newcastle, they are exposed to annual UV radiation levels of 4410 - compared to 5150 in Bristol.

More than a third of kids play in the park without sun lotion and half of children are sent to school without sun lotion.
