200-level Akwa Ibom University student shot dead by suspected cultists - Daily Post Nigeria

Jimmy, who died at about 12:30pm, was shot while trying to resist the criminals from snatching his phones and other belongings.

A statement by the Head, Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Mr Akaninyene Ibanga, made available to DAILY POST on Monday, said that the victim was rushed to a medical facility for treatment where he died, two days after admission. “The University Management took over the hospital bills just to save his life but on Saturday late Emem could not survive the struggle with death, so he finally passed on at about 12.30pm.”

“The Vice- chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University on behalf of Management, staff and students expresses his deep sadness over the unfortunate demise of late Emem Jimmy, a 200 level male student of Political Science Department.
