The extensive prose — uploaded over two separate posts — was accompanied by throwback photos of a 23-year-old Imogen on the catwalk in what appears to be a bikini made entirely of sand pasted to her body.
Now 27, and rumoured to be engaged to radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands, Imogen bravely spoke about the things in her past that had left a lasting impact on her.In an incredibly candid Instagram post to her 156,000 followers on Sunday, Imogen said she had been moved between 13 different schools during her youth.
Depending on the school, Imogen said she was either “semi-cool” or severely bullied, which left her traumatised.“ literally had no one to sit with or even talk to.”Source:Instagram“I turned to the bakery and ate a sh*t load of hot chips …” she wrote.“You can cover scars, but they will be there forever. Physically AND mentally.”Imogen recalled a moment in year 7 she believes triggered her body dysmorphia.
Despite living this exciting new life, she revealed her body dysmorphia suddenly reared its head, and she soon “saw something different to what everyone else saw”.“I still ‘modelled’ though and attempted to beat whatever anxieties I had with that mask.”Imogen’s career was taking off, but she still felt the impact of being bullied.Her new life in Sydney was filled with modelling work and partying, which she said took her mind off of her anxiety.
