Saturday marked the annual La Costa Canyon Semper Fi Tournament, the last 7-on-7 event before the start of fall practices. Mt. Carmel edged Imperial 28-27 for the title, breaking up a two-point conversion attempt on the day’s last play.Imperial beat Steele Canyon , Tri-City Christian , El Capitan and La Costa Canyon en route to the title game.
With quarterback Brady Palmer at the controls, Cathedral Catholic beat Torrey Pines 20-19 in the title game.
