A Jewish family from Brooklyn is blaming the NYC Department of Education for a possible hate crime that took place at ain Gravesend on June 14. The alleged incident comes at a time when antisemitism continues to plague the city, particularly since the start of the Israel – Hamas conflict on Oct. 7, 2023.

Police were called to the scene and arrested Bazar, age 26, and charged him with third-degree assault. According to police sources, the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
