According to the World Bank, we live in the most unequal society in the world and it’s for this reason that initiatives like bursary programmes are crucial for uplifting families, creating education and employment opportunities for our fellow South Africans.One bursary student is taking that in her stride and is making big plans for the future. Bukho Miti is a content creator studying a Higher Certificate in Digital Content Creation at the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business.
When she received the bursary, it allowed her to focus on her studies instead of worrying about getting a second job to support herself financially. Because of this opportunity, she can put all her effort into her schooling and produce the best results in her academics. ‘By creating jobs for other people and creating opportunities for other people. Once you plant the seed for someone, they’ll go on to do the same because they’ll see the impact that it’s had in their life.’Red & Yellow has a social promise that at least 10% of students won’t have to pay for their studies. In 2024, Red & Yellow nearly doubled that number with 19% of students receiving bursaries to fund their tertiary education.
