Crying paedophile teacher jailed for six years after having sex with teen boys

A paedophile school teacher who had sex with two teenager boys - and had a baby with one of them - will spend six-and-half-years behind bars.

Judge Cornell went on: "You were the adult, the one in control and should have known better. You were trusted by the school, the boys and the parents, for caring and protecting their sons. You abused that trust and exploited that role for your sexual gratification." When Joynes, now 30, had the baby with Boy B, the infant was taken away from her just hours after she gave birth. She now sees the child just three times a week. Joynes was also accused of a “naked attempt to garner sympathy” from the jury by having a pink baby’s bonnet visibly tucked into her trousers during her appearances at the trial.

Boy A called her "sexy", and boy B, sent her a message saying, "Get your **** out." When asked about whether she should have talked to the boys on Snapchat, Joynes replied: “Absolutely not, as a professional teacher I should have never engaged in that. I have to take accountability for that.” "For months after the abuse it was a very dark time. I felt backed into a corner, I had just lived a double life for 18 months, and it had a massive mental toll on me and my family. It tore my family apart, they struggled to come to terms with the fact they brought me to school which was supposed to be a safe environment. My parents broke down every day and night."

During closing speeches at the trial in May, Joe Allman, prosecuting, said: “She’s aware of the optics here. She’s not stupid. Is Miss Joynes more shrewd than she lets on?” Mr Allman said: “Let’s look at the reality of the situation. You were 29, living in a flat, had a good income, drove an Audi A1. He was a child, you were an adult. He was a pupil, you were a teacher. He lived with his mum and dad, they were not supposed to know about your liaisons with him. Who was controlling who?”
