Adrian Gonzales, a former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District officer, was indicted last week on29 charges of abandoning and endangering a child.

The total number represents the children who were killed in the Robb Elementary shooting and survived in Classrooms 111 & 112.

We spoke with Mo Canady, the executive director of the National Association of School Resource Officers, earlier this year. He outlined why that strategy isn't encouraged. He says that's a lesson we learned from the Columbine shooting, and experts have been recommending a more direct approach ever since.
