In an effort to lessen the burden of local taxpayers and to hopefully increase the amount of state funding the district receives, Medina City Schools has joined a consortium of roughly 50 Ohio school districts to lobby for more equitable funding for the school districts.

Medina Superintendent Aaron Sable said the district has joined a consortium of 50 districts in Ohio lobbying for more equitable state funding.MEDINA, Ohio –

Sable said most districts have seen an increase over the last decade even if it was a small one, but added that for these 50 districts, it has not been the case due to the current state funding formula. Sable said Loveland placed a levy on the ballot in 2019 which failed. A second proposed levy failed in 2020 and a third in 2022. The school district finally had a levy pass in 2023.
