Neither Utah State nor Anderson had publicly confirmed the report as of the publishing of this article. Thamel on Tuesday announced on X that sources told him Anderson "is on administrative leave from head coaching." Fifteen minutes later, he followed up with a second post, stating simply: "Blake Anderson is not expected to return as coach, per sources."According to Thamel, the football team was informed Anderson likely wouldn't be back and that defensive coordinator Nate Dreiling would be stepping in as interim coach.
