A lecturer with the Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State was killed and his two sons abducted by bandits early hours of today, Tuesday. Two other persons were also abducted during the attack.

The lecturer identified as Dr. Tiri Gyang was attacked around 1:30 am at his residence in Yarima Low-Cost, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to her, “Dr Tiri’s two sons were at the parlour at the time of the incident. The elder saw the bandit entering their compound through the fence and ran to the father’s room to inform him. “Dr Tiri was left with no choice but to come out of hiding, appealing to them to carry him along with his sons. The bandits queried why he failed to open the door earlier but he pleaded with them to carry him instead. Finally, they shot him before taking his two sons away.

The deceased was the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, FUDMA. He is survived by his wife and four children, two boys and two girls.
