Anne Collins, 28, of Greece, a former coach at Brockport High School, waits outside a Monroe County courtroom Tuesday, July 2, 2024, ahead of her arraignment after being indicted on nine counts of criminal sexual act. Rochester, N.Y. — A former coach at Brockport High School has pleaded not guilty to having sexual contact with a former student-athlete.
Anne Collins, now 28, of Greece, was arrested last month after she allegedly engaged in sexual contact with the then-15-year-old victim between March and August of 2018, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.Following a grand jury indictment, Collins was arraigned Tuesday morning on nine counts of third-degree criminal sexual act. She pleaded not guilty on all counts.
Collins coached JV basketball and softball in the Brockport Central School District from 2017-2022. She has since been working as a social worker and has provided counseling to children. Her attorney said Collins has stopped seeing children in that role. "Here we are again standing in front of you, talking to you about another person who has power and control connected to a school district where they utilize that power and control to manipulate, groom and prey on children in our community," Assistant District Attorney Hillary Langdon said.
Collins, who has no criminal history, was taken to the Monroe County Jail on $40,000 bail. She was previously released on $5,000 bail after her arrest. Her attorney declined to comment Tuesday.
