Former Bergen Catholic standout John Mustard was selected in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

For the fourth time in the last six years, a high school hockey player from New Jersey was among them.

He scored three goals and three assists as a freshman and was teammates with Aram Minnetian, who was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round, 125th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Mustard broke out as a sophomore during the 2021-22 season. He buried 21 goals and 21 assists that winter, which was his last with the Crusaders and helped him earn Second Team All-State honors.Mustard didn’t return as a junior and spent the entire 2022-23 campaign playing for the North Jersey Avalanche.
