A Nottingham school has retained its good rating after Ofsted's latest inspection. Hogarth Academy, in the Porchester Road area, was praised for its ambitious curriculum and careful consideration of pupils' development.
Morale is high at the school, attendance is good and school trips are plentiful to seaside towns such as Mablethorpe and to places of worship to "broaden pupils' horizons and promote their understanding of diversity." Staff benefit from high-quality training, which equips them with sound subject knowledge to help pupils learn the most important content.
It said: "Pupils’ behaviour is positive. As soon as children start in the early years, they are explicitly taught how to recognise and manage their emotions. If pupils struggle to make appropriate choices, staff provide suitable support. Pupils are confident to speak to staff if they have any worries. They appreciate the care they receive.
Headteacher Sarah Lee said: “We are very proud of the elements highlighted in the report that show how Hogarth Academy is striving to provide all pupils with the opportunity to flourish.
