Katey Harvey, a trainer at Ireland's most successful wrestling school, speaks about wrestling becoming a viable career for Irish people

The Wicklow pair of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh delivered the latest WWE success for Irish wrestlers earlier this week when they won the World Tag Team Championships on Monday Night Raw.

She added: "I think it’s important to remember that Fight Factory comes from NWA Ireland which is what Finn Balor would’ve founded with Paul Tracey, and JD would’ve started under him. And then it only became Fight Factory about 15 years ago.

“We’re obviously very very proud of her, but not surprised," she laughed. "From the minute she walked in, you just knew that she was gonna be very special. She’s always been the hardest worker on the mats, she’s a constant example to people now who keep training and keep working." Instagram "For the first time ever; I think it’s an actual, viable career and lifestyle for a lot of young people coming up," she said. "And now they have this pathway paved by the guys already in WWE and Japan, it’s just a lot more realistic that people can make a living from wrestling.
