The University of Missouri student, 22, went missing from downtown Nashville on March 8 after being asked to leave Luke Bryan's bar on lower Broadway for intoxication.
On Thursday, the TABC released a report about the investigation. It included extensive interviews, reviewed purchase records and extensive video footage provided by businesses from the evening of Strain's disappearance. The TABC investigation found Strain became intoxicated over the course of the evening, and there is "no clear evidence" the college student was served an alcoholic beverage while visibly drunk at any licensed premises. On March 8, 2024, the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission was alerted to the disappearance of Riley Strain after a night out in downtown Nashville in which Mr. Strain and his friends visited licensed establishments that serve alcohol.
Safe alcohol service requires a great deal of responsibility. We urge all alcohol-serving establishments to provide frequent refresher training to their staff on safe alcohol practices.
