Several books have been confirmed to be bound in human skin worldwide, and the library’s Koran has often been cited as a possibility. But Skrtic was skeptical of the validity of these claims. Three samples were sent to Harvard to be analyzed by the school’s anthropology department using zooarchaeology by mass spectrometry, which analyzes the proteins in the materials.
