Newly released body camera video has shed new light into an officer-involved shooting in New Haven, Connecticut, that’s prompted protests.
A car allegedly matching the description of the one leaving the scene of the attempted robbery was spotted on Dixwell Avenue in New Haven, state police said. Police stopped the Honda Civic that Washington and Witherspoon were in. Commissioner James Rovella said “There were indications that he was told to open the door… or come out with his hands up.”

Horrifying and thankful the citizens should be ok. I am at least somewhat comforted to hear the police department is also very concerned about what is most certainly an abuse of power and is taking actions now!

What is wrong with these cops. He fired on the young man that opened his door with his hands up and the other cop fired into the window on the other side of the car. That is not Adam -12 police training.
Body cams should be mandatory for all officers. It protects them, the public, and provides much needed information if a shooting occurs.
